 Cin Cin Man

The concept for Cin cin man all started for a Fine Art Student (Duro) while on a train in China.
He wrote 'I'm a Cin cin man, on a Cin Cin train, in a Cin Cin land.'
On return to Amsterdam this project took on new meaning for him.
The idea came to him 'Steal my idea' and see what happens.
He put down 5 or 6 versions of the song to get the ball rolling and then offered it to other musicians, to 'Steal his idea' and make their own version based on the catch phrase.
The idea was to try and get 1000 cover versions of the song from anyone who wanted to contribute and then put them on a juke box.
The ten most played versions would be released on CD.
1000 version might have been a bit optimistic, but on last count there were about 40 versions and the aim is to get 500 by July 2007.
Some in the back yard, different genres, all sorts of takes.

You can submit a version of your own if you like. (We are version 23).

Marcia Flude

Marcie Flude brought the first versions and the idea back to Australia with her after a visit with her friend Duro.
Then she gave the idea to Peter.
After a few hours they had their own version together and thought it might be fun to record Cin Cin Man, just for the hell of it.

Peter put all the instruments down for the backing track.

Peter Hardinge

The words were written together in a few hours with Pete, Dilip and Marcie throwing around ideas.

Dilip Parekh

Then Dilip Parekh sang the lead vocals and Marcie Flude multi tracked the harmonies.
Pete mixed and mastered it all and the audio track was finished.
Then the idea came to make a video for the track in Dilip's back yard, so they invited a whole bunch of friends as extras and the Cin Cin Man Video is the result of a fun night out for all.
Enjoy
